If you saw my pictures on Flickr and Facebook, sorry this a repeat. I just had to post them here, as well. There are four baby American Robins in a nest on our front porch area. This is what it looked like when we found the nest approx. a fortnight past:

This is the scene we discovered a few days ago:

They all have appropriately silly names ROCK'N, TRIP (Those of you that know the show 'Man About the House' will get this name,) RED (Part of a restaurant name) and CHRISTOPHER.

To my European friends, American Robins look very different to your native Robins. Here are the parents:

  1. These shots are precious, Marcie.
I'm glad you got to see the babies.

We had so many storms come through our area when the birds were building nests, that I have found many dead birds or broken eggs and damaged nests.
I feel sad when I see them.
Yesterday, I had to clean my car off, because the wind had knocked the eggs from a nest onto my car. The contents had stuck to my car hood. That stuff can take paint off your car or house if it dries !!

Thanks for sharing the babies and the beautiful eggs. The only eggs I have see this year are from the damaged nests.

    Have a lovely weekend !
